My Favorite Christmas Tree
We went last weekend to buy our Christmas tree and my youngest found this little branch laying on the ground. She picked it up and carried it all over the lot with her. When she asked the tree lot guy if she could have it, he, of course, said yes. She brought it home and fashioned this tree stand out of a bud vase and flower pot - my husband helped her put the rocks around the vase to hold it upright. Then she decorated it all by herself. Aaaawwwww! It reminds me so much of Charlie Brown's tree. It makes me smile just to look at it. I love Christmas!

Anger
It's time to stop being angry and remember the love, the bond. If you continue to hold on to your anger and resentment and she refuses to let go of her anger and resentment and they pick up on all the anger and resentment and it hurts and confuses and infuriates them and they can't let it go ... it's a never ending cycle that encourages and nurtures hate. It's gotta stop! If she won't let go and he won't let go and they won't let go ... why don't you just let go? Somebody needs to. Just ... let ... go. Let go of the anger. Let go of the resentment. Let go of the hurt. Open your heart and find the love. It's in there.
Life is much too short to spend it angry.

School Charity Drive
My daughter's high school usually does the Sub for Santa as their charity drive. This year, because of all the devastation in the Gulf States from the hurricanes, they've decided to make Habitat for Humanity their school charity. They've set a goal of reaching $30,000. Please help them reach this goal. Donations of all sizes are welcome.

Midnight Blue
photo copyright 2005 Brian Bonell
I love this dress! Last night, at midnight, I decided I wanted a photo of me in it. Luckily, I am married to fabulous photographer who is gifted with patience & humour who decided that, "OK, my wife is nuts, but what the hell!" So off we went. I feel so positively witchy! Yay!

My wrist
I did something terrible to my wrist. I don't know what and I don't know how. I just woke up this morning to the worst pain imaginable. I thought maybe I'd slept on it funny or something & tried moving it around - that usually works. Today, it just made the pain worse. So I tried taking some Ibuprofen. Didn't do a thing. Keeping it immobilized helps a little, so I bought a wrist brace. Fine ... 'cept now I'm having a hard time typing, buttoning my pants, driving ... I even have to have my teenage daughter do the cooking tonight. Ugh!

NEW STORES!
I've started setting up some online stores. There's still a lot of things I need to put up there, but there's enough now to open the e-doors, I think.
My store is http://www.cafepress.com/leisl - buttons, bags, magnets, etc.
Brian's store is http://www.cafepress.com/bonell - calendars, boxes, whatnots, etc.
And last, but certainly not the least - You can now purchase framed prints from Bonell Photography at http://www.cafepress.com/bonellphotog!
SPREAD THE WORD! SPREAD THE JOY!

Resignation
Last night I sent an email to the local Komen folks withdrawing myself from involvement in the Salt Lake premier of Sing for the Cure. It was a difficult decision for me to make - one I cried and sobbed over - but it is made. I still feel strongly that this concert should be performed here - and I truly hope they follow through with it. It will just have to be done without me.

The Mourning Snort
Remember the snort from the book "Are You My Mother?" That was my wonderful husband this weekend.
We had three baby robins in our elm tree out front. Yesterday, one of them was kicked out of the nest by the other two. We found it alone & shivering in the front lawn Hubby was about to mow. We borrowed a ladder from the neighbors and he climbed up the tree, holding the baby in his gloved hand (he fashioned a "glove" out of a plastic ziploc bag so as not to get "people smell" on the baby), and carefully placed it back in the nest with it's siblings. "I feel like the snort," he said when he came back down the ladder. And all was well and happy.
This morning as I was leaving to take the little ones to school, I noticed the baby back on the front lawn. Poor little thing was voted out of the nest again. It was my intention, then, to save it - to raise it until it could take care of itself. Sadly, when I returned from dropping the kiddles off at school, it was dead. Poor little thing. I had to bury it ... all by myself ... next to the iris patch in the front garden. My stone hedgehog is it's headstone. It's been a sad, sad morning for me.
